8 ways to have even more fun on your all-inclusive resort vacay

By Melissa Thibodeau

With travelling being a possibility in several regions again, parents are now more eager than ever to escape to a beach for a few days with their kids. We’ve pooled together 8 tips some of our staff wish they knew before they went on their first sun vacations with their kids.

1. Snacks from home

There’s no way to know how your little ones will respond to the local food so pack some familiar snacks before you leave.

2. Reusable tumblers

Pack reusable stainless-steel tumblers for everyone. Great for the environment and keeps your drinks icy cold!

3. Sun essentials

Bring a first aid kit, aloe gel, basic beach toys and snorkel kits from home. These items are more expensive in resort shops.

4. Avoid having hangry kids

On your first day, locate the restaurants and snack bars closest to your suite (use the resort map and make a game out of it!) Then pop in for fresh fruits and snacks all week with ease.

5. Keep a routine going

If you’re eating at the same restaurants, go at the same time every day and if possible, choose the same table. Kids won’t feel so disoriented and you’ll most likely have the same friendly server.

6. Resort activities

Check out the resort’s kids club (if they have one) or the daily activities schedule to bust boredom (especially great for older kids).

7. Light the night

Make it easier for your kids to find the bathroom – or you – in the middle of the night, with a night light from home.

8. Teachable moment

Talk to your kids about where you’re going. Show them pictures and videos of the country, the area and the resort where you’ll be staying. They’ll be even more excited and grateful!

Whether you’re going on your first spring break vacation together or you’re already seasoned pros, we wish you a very happy and safe journey! Enjoy the moments.
